1. La Salle College Explorers (4-1)
The Explorers hold onto the top spot despite suffering their first loss of the season—a hard-fought 39-36 defeat to a surging No. 7 Roman Catholic squad. Missouri-commit quarterback Gavin Sidwar had a rare tough outing with three interceptions, but the test is far from over. This Saturday, La Salle faces the biggest challenge yet: an epic clash with long-time rival, No. 2 St. Joseph’s Prep School.
2. St. Joseph’s Prep School Hawks (2-3)
Don’t let the record fool you. The Hawks have officially found their stride, roaring back from an 0-3 start with back-to-back shutouts, including a dominant 58-0 win over Father Judge. SJP is riding a wave of momentum and is poised to grab the top spot when they face No. 1 La Salle College this weekend in a massive rivalry game.
3. Central Catholic Vikings (5-1)
The Vikings solidified their place among the elite by powering past former No. 9 North Allegheny with a 21-6 victory. Central Catholic’s defense tightened up in the second half, with two crucial third-quarter scores making the difference. They look to keep the momentum rolling this Friday against Shaler Area.
4. Malvern Prep Friars (4-1)
Malvern Prep proved their national mettle by extending their win streak to four games, beating Gonzaga—the top-ranked team in Washington, D.C.—31-24. The Friars earn a well-deserved bye next week before returning to action against Germantown Academy on Oct. 11.
5. Peters Township Indians (5-0)
The Indians remain undefeated thanks to a clutch 24-20 victory over Upper Saint Clair. Quarterback Nolan DiLucia was outstanding, completing 16 of 24 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns. Peters Township aims for 6-0 this Friday against Moon Area.
6. Harrisburg Cougars (6-0)
Perfection continues for the Cougars! Harrisburg completely shut down Carlisle Area with a 49-0 shutout, pushing their scoring differential over the last three opponents to an astounding 140-6. Next up is a Saturday tilt against Altoona.
7. Roman Catholic Cahillite (3-2)
Roman Catholic is the story of the week, pulling off the massive 39-36 upset over the former No. 1 La Salle College. Akron-commit quarterback Semaj Beals was electric, throwing for five touchdowns. The Cahillite will try to maintain their surge Friday against Cardinal O’Hara.
8. Pine-Richland Rams (5-1)
Talk about efficiency! The Rams made quick work of Fox Chapel Area with a lopsided 63-3 victory, a game that featured shortened quarters and a running clock in the second half. Pine-Richland turns its attention to a matchup with Penn Hills this Friday.
9. North Allegheny Tigers (5-1)
The Tigers suffered their first setback of the year in the 21-6 loss to Central Catholic. Quarterback Brady Brinkley struggled, but North Allegheny has a prime chance to bounce back and prove their resilience this Friday against Mt. Lebanon.
10. Upper Saint Clair Panthers (5-1)
Panthers QB Ethan Hellman had a stellar performance with 26 completions for 305 yards and two touchdowns, but Upper Saint Clair ultimately fell to No. 5 Peters Township, 24-20. They are already focused on their next challenge: South Fayette Township on Friday.
