The Latest Midwest High School Football Top 25 Rankings

High school football season is in full swing across the Midwest, and the latest rankings are out! Week one saw some exciting matchups, dramatic upsets, and a few teams making a big jump into the top 25. Let’s break down the Midwest High School Football Top 25 Rankings for this week.

Despite a narrow loss to a national powerhouse, East St. Louis (Illinois) holds on to the No. 1 spot. Their 22-21 defeat against Bergen Catholic (New Jersey) was a hard-fought game that proved they can compete with the best. They’ll look to get in the win column in their next game. Close behind is Loyola Academy (Illinois), which secured a solid win to remain at No. 2.

The biggest shake-ups this week happened lower in the rankings, with five new teams entering the top 25. These teams—Blaine (Minnesota), Waverly (Nebraska), Lyons (Illinois), Norris (Nebraska), and Grundy Center (Iowa)—each had impressive victories, earning their way onto the list. The shake-up also meant five teams previously in the rankings, including Lakeville North and Bennington, have dropped out.
