The district champions that were all ranked in last week’s edition of the Trib HSSN state baseball rankings suffered from championship hangovers as many lost in the first two rounds of the PIAA playoffs.
Selinsgrove, Holy Ghost Prep, and Punxsutawney are the new No. 1 teams heading into the state final four in their respective divisions: 5A, 4A, and 3A.
The district with the most teams heading into the PIAA semifinals is District 3 with four teams. Districts 1, 4, 6, 7 and 12 all have three teams left.
